You can use the files collection of the folder object:
loFSO			= Createobject('Scripting.FileSystemObject')
loFolder		= loFSO.GetFolder('C:\Windows\')
? loFolder.Files.Count()         && File count
? loFolder.SubFolders.Count()    && SubFolders Count
