>After 15 years of developing FP/VFP apps, I am moving on to something diferent. For the past 6 months, I have been transitioning myself back toward engineering work where my degree is in (Chemical Engineer to be exact). In two weeks, I will be taking an Engineering position in the Agency where I work. I have been wanting to do this for about a year now, and the recent hurricanes that hit 2 of the States in our Agency's Region (Texas and Louisiana) cemented that desire to move on.

During these past few weeks, many of the staff I will be working with have been sent to the affected areas in Louisiana and Texas, getting these systems back up and running, tested for contamination, etc.

>I will still be a lurker around the UT and other NGs as we still have many applications in use around here that I have developed, but I will be in more of a support mode where they are concerned and will not be doing much more development. There is some sadness for me in leaving what I have done for so long, but I will only be about 100 feet down the hall from where I work now, and always just a few electrons away from here.

Mark,

I'm glad that you're moving on to a new challenge. I'm sad because the community is losing (sort of) one of its finest.

My best to you and yours,
George
