Very rough pros and cons at first glance (not to bash anyone of them):
-At first sight SQL server is a foreign land.
-Scan...endscan like constructs are not as they're in VFP and might sound harder at first (and discouraged for good reasons). Put other xBase commands in this category.
-UI on VFP side might seem to be harder to deal with.
But:
-Once you taste it ... It's addictive:) You would start to wish VFP can do everything it does.
-Speed. SQL server is like speedy Gonzales:) You might be surprised to see subsecond responses to complex queries.
