It's been a while.
I looked at ASP and WC (both good ASP guys). My last internet project used a VFP MTDLL,foxISAPI under ISAPI to get and push data from browsers. It uses both DBF and SQL. It screams. Most of the Nay sayers are selling NET/ASP interfaces.
I judge products like ActiveVFP and others by the people that offer them. If a Web tool is offered by a guy or girl chanting VFP is dead - I avoid them.
While I was working on the "server" for my VFP MTDLL ISAPI project, many people I knew to have the skills to answer my questions, would instead tell me VFP sucks - take my bnet seminar and toss your VFP.
In needed help with Java and HTML (now I doing a bunch of DHTML for the project) - and some really generous smart people walked me through those issues. When it came to my VFP COM (the ISAPI server) a few gave some direction, but the name that stood out was Claude Fox. He located a clean copy of some arcane VFP COM white papers that I absolutley need to finish the requirement.
Go with the product of a company that is not associated with the "VFP is Dead" and "Convert your VFP to NET" pitches. Go with the vendor that believes in VFP - and is not paying rent souly by parroting the brouchures at MS.
