Very well! The cake ended up being about 24" x 18" and 8" high. Weighed 45lbs. I didn't get to use many of the ideas, but did fabricate a carrier using your idea of plywood reinforced with wood. I basically put a piece of plywood on an "H" frame, then screwed the board on which the cake was made, to that. I had to have help getting it to the van and then into the house, but since I put the loop portion of velcro on the four corners of the carrier, it stuck to the carpet in the van and didn't slide anywhere. I usually only do one every couple months or so, so I have some time to refine/improve the mechanics.
