Cats are pretty smart. Mine long ago figured out the difference between doing something wrong, and getting caught doing something wrong.

>My cat is allowed on the chairs, sofas and beds. However, he is NOT allowed on any tables or countertops. I often come home and find paw prints on my kitchen counters though. He does what he likes when no one is home.

We don't have pets anymore, but Gary has been in the habit of making the bed (or at least covering it up with the quilt/comforter, whatever you want to call it) for so many years of pet-ownership, that it's just habit with him. I tend to leave it unmade most of the time (and no, it doesn't drive him crazy ... he'll make it if I don't ... and without complaining!!! <g>).

>>OK, as a Russian :) I let our cat to sleep on a bed, but not on a dining table. However, he sleeps on my desk beside the computer. :)
