Some guys went to the 2005 PDC.
Last Visual Studio user's group meeting they talked about many things they learned there. One of those things was LINQ.
LINQ looks like a really interesting addition to .Net.
That being said they had to mention Visual FoxPro from time to time. Thanks to Jean-René Roy in majority because when those guys said something Jean-René frequently replied "We've been doing that in Visual FoxPro for a long time".
BUT when Visual FoxPro was mentioned (By the presenters or Jean-René) to me it looked like the mood of the meeting changed. A little downer that lasted from 5 to 10 seconds.
I just hope that we'll have other occasions to mention VFP during the next meetings <g>. Hmm perhaps we'll be banned (old VFP developers) starting the next meeting. Just to make sure that VFP is not mentioned so frequently in that user's group. I'd say that "Visual FoxPro" was mentioned a douzen of times in the last year and a half. And only in the last meeting around 7 times. DANGER DANGER there's been a big increase in the use of the forbidden word.
Who knows those mentions could become dangerous to virgin ears <g>.
