CDO is not really equipped to return any king of error if the email never leaves the computer. It just stays in a queue until it is ready to go (The queue for this should be in your Inetpub/mailroot/Pickup directory) . The reponses expected from CDO are success or failiure to deliver, not send. The check whether an SMTP is running you would go to
Control panel->Internet information services-> You should see there "default SMTP virtual server". If not there, use a Windows disk and use the add/remove windows components and add it.

>>Have you checked that an SMTP service is running on the computer? CDO requires that an SMTP service is running. If not add one.

>>>I am using the CDOsys code made by Craig SPS and it works fine on my Windows 2000 workstations.
>>>I sent it to the end user and they are not sending out email. They do not get and fail nor success
>>>it is as if the CDOsys is not even being called. It is the exact same compiled exe file they & I am running.
>>>The only difference is they are running XP.
>>>
>>>Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
