Aye. Some years ago I was having a summer party in the garden. In the small hours, after all had gone, I heard what sounded like a woman being tortured to death in the local park. I phoned the police who arrived some time later to tell me they circled the park but couldn't see anything (Yeah, I thought, and a murderer is going to do it on the grass, rather than dragging his victim into the bushes!). Then they said, do you think it could have been a fox?
Then it hit me. The sound of a dog fox calling for his mate is like a human strangled scream of terror and pain. A neighbour whom I met some time later told me HE'd called the police that night too. Anyway, luckily there was no murder reported that night.
Regards
Terry
