>>I've had that discussion with John Ryan yet he has several arguments that made no sense to me.

The only "argument" I recall you quoting is "I met an expert who said this. I interviewed somebody who said that. I asked lots of people at a conference and they said this".

Rather than holding surveys, I tried out C# starting in 2002. I noted certain deficiencies and reported them. After I endured the usual scoffing from Perry Forman who said none of the experts he surveyed had experienced any such issues, I was gratified that MS also saw the deficiency and would address it as a priority.

>>John Ryan is convinced that once you create apps in VFP, you just won't like developing in another language.

I think you're confusing me with the "straw man" protagonist you keep inside your head to win arguments against! I've never said any such thing.

>>I've witnessed exactly the opposite. Not one single time has someone asked or questioned how dotnet handles data.

Fine. In that case, the improvements promised by MS won't impact your survey populations in the slightest.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
