Can anybody replicate the following:
On a WinXP Pro SP1 client, I'm trying to use SPT to determine what tables and what their columns are for SQL Server, Sybase and Teradata via, of course, ODBC.
Here's the big problem. When attempting to use SQLCOLUMNS() in VFP 9.0. When I issue a series of SPT commands (SQLSTRINGCONNECT(), SQLTABLES(), SQLCOLUMNS()), on SQLCOLUMNS() in 8.0 it works fine. In 9.0 I get an error (-1) with the following message: "Connectivity error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequence error"
This occurs both with and without the call to SQLTABLES(). Can anyone replicate?
An additional minor issue is that in 8.0 when you issued a call to SQLEXEC() or one of the above that returns a result set, control doesn't return to the client until after the command has completed. In 9.0, it takes multiple calls to the same function to complete the sequence.
Is this by design or not.
