>>Is it just me, or are you editing your posts as the day goes on?
No, I edit them 3 or 4 times immediately after posting because Kevin Goff told me to ;-)
>>With this in mind, why has the user base for VFP undergone a massive decline in the last 10 years or so?
That became inevitable once Sigler made his fateful statements in 1995. You may not realize that (ahem!) certain people made the very points you now make, more than a decade ago. Since then Ken Levy and others have been more diplomatic but the message remains the same.
Which leads to something else you need to consider. Some think that VFP's continued presence *at all* is truly remarkable. MS has successfully reduced numerous external apps to irrelevance, but hasn't managed to do the same with something in its own ranks. Ask yourself how that might be explained.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
