Hi everyone

I am facing a particularly challenging task at the moment - I am designing and developing an application to supercede two separate systems (mixtures of Access and Excel based systems...) being run by the same company at different production sites. The main challenges I am facing are centred around Stock and Stock Control - both existing systems have different ways of creating Lot Codes and the historical data from both sites must be brought into the new system.

What I am really looking for is some sort of information on recommended database schema's for stock control systems. Also any advice from developers who have faced a similiar situation.

I am thinking I can use a new format for creating lot codes and store the old lot codes in the table to provide traceability back through the historical data...
