Hi Michel

Thanks for your reponse.

>From what I understand, you seem to want the dynamic treeview to kick in no matter the number of messages. So far, you have your account configured for the default value of 400 messages. When that limit reached or higher, the treeview will become dynamic. Have you tried using the minimum value of 50?

Actually this is a cross between completely dynamic Tree and the one that shows in the default case. It is more no. of level based. To illustrate I have copied actual text from the view I just have:

This is the current view

If I want to go deeper only then will I click the + sign. This IMO will reduce the no. of message to skip on the screen. I can skip 8 message in the conferences case, 2 in the eg. below it. If I am interested in Hilmars response only then will I click the + sign and go into the details.

This comes in handy especially where there are long threads but the whole does not interest me, I have to scroll quite some bit to get to the next message. There have been times when I would have missed a single message between 2 long running threads. If the long running threads are compressed in the above manner I guess I would not miss the single slow running thread in between.

Of course there will be special cases when all responses go the the same original poster like in the case when there were recent personal announcements. In that case the list will still remain long as all of them are the 2nd level of thread. Baring such cases I where it is understanable.

Hope I have been able to explain my thoughts.
Regards
Bhavbhuti
