wouldn´t bother with VFP9´s dynamic formatting kludge currently. I don´t know if the planned nice UI is in the SP1 beta or it will be lateron in Sedna. (Going to get my MSDN subscription containing VFP 9 soon.)

Very simple solution for the time being: Just put two objects on top of each other. Format one object with PRINT When val < 0 with red forecolor.
