Actually I gave the advice NOT to use this as it will be deprecated soon, cuz Sedna will contain a nice user interface for such simple dynamic props if it´s not in the SP1 beta already.

wouldn´t bother with VFP9´s dynamic formatting kludge currently. I don´t know if the planned nice UI is in the SP1 beta or it will be lateron in Sedna. (Going to get my MSDN subscription containing VFP 9 soon.)
