>That is good to hear! Even though the current bridge is a replacement also, I saw the photos and film of the 1940 disaster and it always made nervous to cross that bridge. There is always so much wind through there.


I was thinking of the 1940's film when I was crossing it (for the first time last week).
The new bridge they are building is not a replacement but a companion on the side (also a suspension bridge just like it). I believe they will then make each one a full one-way to alleviate traffic.
