About one year ago I saw a similar job offer from The University of San Francisco, offering $28k. Full time, VFP, etc.
In the Bay Area things are interesting. A couple (no kids) has to make $80 k a year according to a recent report. You will have no savings. If you make $160 K a year you can afford to buy a house (bottom end of market).
