I used to go out to Point Reyes all the time when I lived in Napa ... driving the back roads to and through Petaluma and then down the coast to Point Reyes Station (there's a great Mexican restaurant there where we were regulars), then out through Inverness on the peninsula ... often going all the way to the lighthouse, but sometimes just going as far as north or south beach ... a nice drive. I miss it since I've moved away.

Anybody seen the movie "Bandits" (Bruce Willis, Cate Blanchett and Billy Bob Thornton)? There's quite a bit that was filmed down around Tomales Bay ... I've been to that restaurant, "Nick's Cove" several times.

>>We were up your way last Saturday at Point Reyes, for a great guitar show – Brian Gore and Juan Martin. Lots of deer on the road – some living and others not.

>When I got my "we have good news and bad news.......you can keep your job but you have to move to CA" it was places like Point Reyes that made it bearable to move here. I'm even getting used to the wild turkeys that roam our backyard.

>I'm spending twice as much in rent for half the house I owned in Texas, the raise they gave me didn't equate to the state income tax -- but at least I'm not in Texas anymore. And places like Point Reyes, Muir Woods, Yosemite, etc. have meant a lot to us (although I get car-sick driving there). All in all, it really is nice to live here...........if only I could afford it.
