I wonder how many good VFP developers there are in India? I'm sure there are quite a few dotnet developers - mostly fresh out of school. I meet them all the time here but to be honest, many of the apps I've seen developed using dotnet were designed poorly. So far I would attribute it entirely to lack of experience. There are so many young programmers out there that learn dotnet in school now but they lack design experience. I think dotnet programmers will still be expensive for sometime because in order to get a good one, he/she typically switched to dotnet after years of develoopment experience using another tool. In around 3-4 more years, there will more experienced developers though able to command higher salaries. However, those salaries may never rise because there will be so many of them - just like the huge base of vb developers just a couple of years ago.

>>Ok, now I get where you're coming from. You feel that in order to keep paying the developers that you have currently, you have to offer higher quality in order to compete. If you cannot do that, then you must let the current ones go, and hire cheaper labor. It's a tough place to be right now on both sides.
