>>Josh,
>>Thanks for the info about memory problems. Do you know how much ram a workstation would need if the mvcount is set near the top of the allowable limit? I have it set at 2500 for those users who have had trouble with the too many memory variables error. Most workstations have 16 megs of ram. Will increasing their ram and increasing the mvcount help with this problem? Is their another way to deal with the too many memory variables problem? I am going to be upgrading this application to the windows environment in an oop language in the next few months but I need to deal with these memory problems in the mean time. Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated!

>2.0X didn't have an extender, or did it? For one, I'm almost sure it loved EMS memory. Just insall the emm386 and give it a couple of megabytes, 2.0 will love it. I'm not sure if it was able to use extended memory - there was some misinformation in the help file, and I seem to recall I've seen some corrected info in some of the KB articles, but that was long ago. But it definitely loved EMS.

>Another tip - in 2.0 the reports were already tables (in 1.0x they were the same, but saved as text delimited with TAB), so they may be corrupted. Try reopening them in the editor, do any minor change (add a space behind some text and delete it) and save; it should force cleaning 'em up or blow up on any bad one - but at leas't you'll locate it that way. Sometimes Using the .frx and packing helps also.

Thanks for your reply Dragan. I inherited this application so I have been building standalone exe files as that is what had been done in the past. There is an extended version of 2.0 but the exe was always built as just standalone not standalone extended. This may have been because not all of the workstations were capable of running the extended version in the beginning but now they all are. I am going to try building a standalone extended exe and see if that makes a difference. I am wondering though how much the other programs each workstation has affects the performance of Foxpro. For example each workstation runs Windows95 and Word. Several others have other programs as well such as an accounting app, CADD, or Excel. Will using the extended version of 2.0 interfere with the running of these programs? Thanks again for your help. I will be glad when the app has been converted to an oop windows application!
