I read your earlier post about the move to a SQL Server back end.
In most cases you will be rewriting the front end to deal with the differences between a record oriented architecture and a client server architecture. I am supposing that this application was built using record orienented code.
So if the assumption (Big assumption here) is taht the front end is going to be rewritten then why not move to a platform that is evolving, has a larger supply of available developers, and has more resources behind it.
Yes VFP is a potential solution but from some manager's POV it has a limited shelf life.
Just my 2 cents.
