I've been using the MM Infragistics controls for a while, so it's been a while since I've used the mmDataGrid or the plain 'ol DataGrid. But some of those problems smell familiar.

Those four properties you're having trouble with belong to the System.Windows.Forms.DataGrid, not the mmDataGrid. Can you duplicate the same behaviour when using the regular DataGrid? Or just check out the MM code and see if there's anything going on there.

If you can duplicate with the regular DataGrid, you know it's not a MM issue, and I suspect that's the case (I didn't bother to check it out myself). IMO, the DataGrid is not quite right, and I do believe your read only issue (at least) has a non-intuitive solution. FWIW the reason we started to use MM Infragistics was to "fix" a more serious issue with the DataGrid.
