In reality it makes no difference - the language and platform become irrelevant based on:
Developers' proficiency with language
Organization tolerance for change
Budget
Platform's support by vendor
Platorm's innovation perception
Cost per developer
I have seen awesome stuff done with C# as well as VFP, and I have also seen amazing crap done in both. C# is the bizz word now, just like Java was on the late 90's, plus C# developers are cheaper by the dozen.
