Sorry Kevin, but didn't he originally say C# or VB.net vs VFP? Is that really the same thing as saying VS.Net vs VFP? If so, then fine,but I'm not really sure of that. Also your requirement for being mobile, is that C# or is it a special version of C#? Maybe that really makes no difference, but I have a feeling that you are bending his original challenge pretty far out of shape.
As far as the $$$ are concerned, I agree with you that nobody should need to make it a large money bet just to prove a point.

How about C# right out of the C# box. That would then have to be Standard Edition of Visual C#.

I'm not trying to get into an argument about this, but I don't think his original wording and your interpretation are necessarily exactly the same thing.
