Thanks - and yes - it will be an Annual License Renewal. I am hoping to work with the primary vendor the program services, "Beauty Control", and integrate user purchases, through the interface. Right now, the user enters purchases after they are received. Updates will be included. One of my tester reps offered to update the inventory (new product / expired products) so that I could make it available as a download to subscribers.

Ed Hardin, one of our UT alumni, turned me on to the concept of "little" programs licensed through inexpensive annual license renewals. He has done very well marketing this way. He does a good multiple of 6 figures a year with his product - and spends just an hour or two on support each day. He is so laid back that I had no choice but to explore this concept.

Project work is great. The problem is that the checks stop comming when the project is over. Sometimes, when we own the project, we can par `le the copyright into a "placement". But then we [usually have to] wait [and hope] for our founder shares or stock options to become liquid.

This market (Beauty Control) has 60K "consultants" (just in US). I did my old mail response calculation (that I could get 3% of the market). No cash yet - testing is still winding down - but I had to risk the time after listening to Ed.

There are a lot of vertical/niche markets out there. I mean lots! There are a lot of little VFP programs working those markets on annual renewals. I think the economy is going to be good for cottage industries. This bodes well for VFP development.

The key was Ed's inspiring talks at our UG.
