Lots of places have ideas...and some submission sites claim to get you listed quickly. I've found two things that SEEMED to have helped: add a Google search box to your page (instructions and code are on the Gooogle site) and do everything you can to increase popularity of the site. I have a cadre of folks who all agree to change a new site I work on to be their home page for awhile, which automatically generates daily hits. YMMV.
