Haven't done it myself, because clipboard just works in my apps - probably the OO menu class that we use does this behind the scenes. Here's a few links to other threads where this was discussed: check message #937377, message #886627 (with some ready-to-use code by Marcia Akins, but I'd recommend looking up the whole thread), and message #886590 in the same thread, which is pretty much the same but simpler.
