First, Jeff hasn't been on the UT since 10/12. So your final speculation isn't very likely.
Second, I don't recall .NET people ever "urging" migration. It's these types of assessments that just add fuel to the fire. Yes, some (myself included) have recommended that learning .NET (or at least certain technologies beyond Fox) is likely to be a provident decision. And yes, other things have been recommended as well. But I don't recall any urging.
There's a great deal that can be done in .NET that some aren't aware of. This is an opportunity to demonstrate.
John, perhaps you could simply wait for Jeff to respond for himself? I think there's been enough general speculation for one day.
