I could set it up as a variable, and pass it to the connection routine.

That brings up another question. In the routine you provided below, would
you run this for each SQL command you needed to run? Or could all but the
oCommand = New OleDbCommand("select * from table1", cn)
somehow be made generic?

Inquiring minds wanna know...
