Alex;
Personally, I did not like hurricane Donna, which hit Orlando September of 1960. We were on alert for 72 hours before the storm hit (4 hours sleep on the third day), 24 hours the day of the storm (4 hours sleep the evening after the storm left, and 72 hours after the storm (at which time I was given 6 hours to rest). The nest morning I had to be at work at 0700 as usual, as if nothing happened.
Talk about nothing happening? It took us weeks to remove trees, houses, etc. after the storm passed. What a mess!
I mentioned that I would rather go through an earthquake and everyone (they were from the south) thought I was crazy! What I did not like was the anticipation of the event and concert for, "would it hit us or not"! Then we had to worry that the hurricane might backtrack, which was not a pleasant thought!
When they start predicting earthquakes with great accuracy I will evaluate if I like hurricanes or earthquakes more. :)
October 17, 1989, 5:04 PM. World Series time. We interrupt this World Series to have an earthquake! :)
