John,

>>When is the last time you saw any of the speakers in the VFP Community donate their time to the conferences?

Uh, last week. I certainly gave up between 30-40 billable hours right in the middle of a full-on project to go to SWFox and speak about XMLAdapter and CursorAdapter to some very enthusiastic attendees. I did the same for DevTeach a few months ago, again giving up billable time that is gone forever. And that doesn't include many more hours than that preparing for the sessions -- again, unbillable time.

That's the story for all of the speakers at those conferences. Add to that the many people who gave their time to speak at the West Wind Web Connection 2-day pre-con, and you have a lot of donation of time involved.

I don't quite know just what point you're trying to make by hijacking Bob's "Thank You" post, and I really don't care what you think about what he said. Your comment was inappropriate and reveals quite a bit about your character, IMO.

The Fox Community is not the only community around, but the SWFox community experience was truly unique for those who were there. Surely you can let Bob give an enthusiastic thank you post without having to defend himself for the words he chose in trying to somehow express what a really great conference it was. Or, perhaps your self-control doesn't extend that far. A real pity, that.
