>>Rookies is better than Hatfield - that's where we perform our PA Crew initiations. Stop by sometime!
How could anybody decline such an attractive invitation! However, my interest in Hatfield is because some of the world's best victorian pottery is to be auctioned there next week. That "world's best" is not just a slogan, either- we're talking about a once-in-your-adulthood opportunity. If you're interested in history, go look at the Queen Victoria majolica wine cooler at the showgrounds. There is one like it in the Victoria and Albert museum in London; this one in the US has been in a collection for decades and will shortly vanish into another, becoming hidden to public view again. Such is life.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
