Well said, Randy. There really is a sense of community among FoxPro developers, something that goes way beyond using the same software tool. I have been involved with several other languages -- assembler, COBOL, Delphi, VB, .NET, SQL Server -- and have not seen another community like it. At all.

I was trying to explain this to a friend last night. I had just heard about Drew Speedie and was telling her it had taken the wind out of my day. After a while she said something like, OK, I'm sorry, too, but let's not get carried away just because he did the same kind of work you do. I told her it's so much more than that. We know where other FoxFolk live (and did even before the UT started putting it right on the screen), names of spouses and kids, likes, dislikes, passions (you Deadhead, you ;-)), personalities. In a sense it's more like a family than a profession. Whatever comes next for me, I know I will miss that.

BTW, speaking of whatever comes next, all the best in your next adventure. I saw your announcement that you were leaving the borg but by the time I saw it about 59 people had already said good luck and I didn't see much point in being #60. Have you decided yet what's next?

Mike
