I've never tried to relate from one table into another through part of a compound index and didn't know if it would work. I'll have to experiment with this. Since my tables are so large I'm guessing that I could save time over creating a cusror as Tracy suggested. I'll try it both ways and see if there is a noticeable performance difference.
