Exactly, that's why I say it is far from business as usual, especially for MS. The content that is being made available on SednaX will be backed up (courtesy of yours truly), in the unlikely event that some kind of bait and switch occurs we can pick up and move. But I have to tell you that MS has been very supportive and encouraging and is taking a decidedly hands-off approach to this in order to see what the Visual FoxPro Community is capable of and not impuning our ability to move independently of them. By independent I don't mean to say that this project will end up being contradictory to their efforts on Sedna, because one of the chief goals is to complement the work they are doing so we are all as productive, and create as big of an impact, as possible
The model that Visual FoxPro, the extensibility of it, the opportunities for interop with .NET, and the strong community backing are all things that we can leverage to our advantage. SednaX is an attempt to harness the power of the community to improve Visual FoxPro. Though the idea is not new (GenScreenX and a whole host of things that have gone before come to mind), I believe the time is right and the willingness is there to produce something bigger and better than has ever been done. I've been wrong before as well, but what if I'm right this time?
