>>> Just what is it again that governemtn does FOR THE PEOPLE?... Under which priorities??? Oh, yea, funnel tax money to corporations and pass tax breaks for corporations. <<

>I am not axiomatically against government per se, or even the federal government, but I sure am against the one we have now. And the worst part is it isn't because they won't spend money, which was the traditional Republican talking point. Between expensive disasters like Iraq and the botched relief effort in the Gulf (which will turn out to be a sieve of money to connected contractors like Halliburton and Bechtel), and "tax relief" to the richest among us, it is going to take us years, probably decades, to recover from this administration's fiscal mismanagement.

It looks to me that most 'western' governments have lost their way, forgetting that they work for the PEOPLE.
Your current administration is the textbook case, but by no means the only one.

I want government to get back to its original purpose... serving the PEOPLE and not corporations.

It's all basically upside-down right now. Sure didn't take much time to happen after the "fall" of Communism (well, that brand of communism that didn't find a way to suck $$$ from corporations while giving them a totally controlled labour force in return).
USSR = Communism = BAD
China = Communism = GOOD
You tell me how the promoter of democracy throughout the world rationalizes that one!

cheers
