Hi Martin,
It depend on which version of DNN used your webmaster.
In newest DNN 3.X.X, there is multilanguage support, but it is static.
This means that you have to create 2 portals one with English language settings and other with Spanish culture. I know that there is German, I have French(a little bid improved) you have to check Spanish Pack - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=785 .
And to place on your DNN skin redirecting flag(English/spanish0 with alias to other portal.
