Are you one of those who says (basically) 'I got nuttin to hide, so I don't have to worry about what they do'?
If so, you really better change that outlook.
Now, in the security "business", what wins is the most outlandish scenario. So if they happen to be discussing your actions/writings/movements, the guy who comes up with the riskiest possible interpretation - no matter how coincidental things have to be - gets the nod and you are surveilled (or worse).
