You can increase the number of recent projects displayed in start page.
This is how you can do that.

From the Tools menu select Options
In Options dialog box click on General of Environment folder.
On the right hand side of the window you will see

Dispaly [4] items in most recently used list.

Change the figure to suit your requirement.
