Thanks Juan. Is it possible to get away w/ placing the ADVAPI32.DLL, OLEAUT32.DLL, OLE32.DLL, ... files in the same folder as my VFP exe (instead of in the windows/system folder)?

>If you are distributing an application that has the Ftp/X control in it you need to distribute Ftpx.DLL as well as Ftpx.OCX (make sure that you distribute the Registered versions of each file and not the Unregistered). The control ( .OCX ) is an ActiveX wrapper for the COM object (.DLL) and will not work unless both files are present. Each of these files need to be copied to the system directory of the target machine and registered using the regsvr32 utility software or some equivilent. In addition to our files, you may need to include certain system .DLL's for the control to work. These .DLL's can found with DCOM98, and should be installed with Visual Studio 6. If you don't have these files (see below), you can find DCOM98 at Microsoft's site (at
http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp ).

As a light ActiveX control/COM Object, FTP/X doesn't require any bulky MFC DLLs to run. Your web-based applications (VBScript, ASP, etc.) will download faster, your installation package will be smaller, and you'll have no problems with different versions of DLLs on your users' systems. And, because it's both an ActiveX control and COM Object, FTP/X will run in Visual Basic, Visual FoxPro, Internet Explorer, Delphi and any other environment that supports either ActiveX controls or COM objects.>>

The newer "light" versions of the controls (signified by the /X in the name) use the ATL model and require the following:
>>
>>ADVAPI32.DLL -- 4.70.1215 -- Date 10/96
>>OLE32.DLL -- 2.1 -- Date 11/96
>>OLEAUT32.DLL -- 2.20.4118 Date 5/97
