In foxplus the reports were still the dBase style .frm files; the 1.0x .frx were tab-delimited text files. The 2.0 and later were .dbf style frx/frt files.

There were some generating tools in early versions of fox - Genifer, CodeView (or whatever it was called), written in other languages. As Fox was further developed, most of them were converted into just Fox code (as was Snap! turned into documenting wizard and beautifier).

I think the only remaining code generator still in use is the genmenu.
