Take a look. Reporting Services is extremely robust. The one thing to be aware of is there is a significant upgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005.

The first version of Reporting Services shipped with 2000 required all reports to be developed in .net. You could provide listboxes to allow users to filter, but the developer has to create all the reports thru dotnet.

In 2005 they added the capability for users to create reports. The developer needs to create the metadata for creating the reports, using dotnet. But users will then be able to create reports thru Reporting Services.

I don't have it on this computer, so I can't tell you what export types it supports.

>>Since you're using SQL Server, I would investigate Reporting Services. Price is right at free.
