MIS became IS which became IT. This is all about empire building. Do you get a pay raise? Probably not. How about allowing you to wear a second necktie? Good idea! Perhaps a party to celebrate the new department title? No, it will be business as usual.
What separates the grunts from the shakers and movers is the big bucks. The shakers and movers get paid more so they can sit around and make a dream come true. Our problem is that we do not see the “big picture”! :)
