Mike -

We have a few clients who are complaining that the reports in our VFP9 application (prior version was VFP6) have slowed to a crawl. The reports have a delay of about two minutes before they finally appear in a preview or hardcopy. It seems to be only happening on local printers.
Our reports are "generated on the fly" by creating the FRX and populating it with the report objects. There was never any issues with speed using this technique before switching to VFP9. Any ideas why?

Make sure the reports that are being created do not include printer environment information. See the 'Changes in functionality:Important Changes:Reporting' topic in the help file for more on this.

How long are the reports? how many pages?

If necessary, SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 80 to ensure the original report engine is used to process the reports to get your speed back.
