How does it test out through the command window? When you exit the app, can you the use the file?
Once I built a project and played with moving tables to a DBC (or was it an ODBC free table folder?) and forgot about it. On the development system everything seemed okay. When I transferred the project I came to learn that the applicatiion was still talking to a "contained" DBF.
Look on your drive for DBCs or other copies of the table. It sounds like something is still connected that should not be. Check the ODBC.
