It really depends upon your customers needs. Both Windows and Web based Dot NET applications work well.
By the way I began development in Dot NET using VB.NET. I followed a few examples in books to get started. Then I found out something interesting! VB.NET let me do things that were not good - like have open connections. I found this out when I wrote the same projects in C# and C# would not let me do things incorrectly. So I am sticking with C#.
Also, I found VB.NET a quick way to get something to work within Dot NET, as it is a 4 GL as is VFP. So it is not a bad idea to learn how to use both tools! :)
