I never heard of it. I remember Radeberger and Duckstein. My favorite was actualy just plain German pilz beer with orange fanta - a Alster/Radler. You can't make it here in the states though since Orange fanta or lemon fanta is made with real orange juice in Europe while it is not in the U.S. It doesn't taste the same.

>>When I was stationed in Germany back in the mid 80s, about 1/3 of our company received a week of admin leave to go skiing in Swizerland as a unit for morale and welfare! :o) It never happened again (sad to say). I had a great time. I also received a week of admin leave to go to East Berlin during the same tour as a reward for winning Division NCO of the year. I toured Berlin and East Berlin on Flag orders back when Checkpoint Charlie still existed and the zones were separate. I really enjoyed it and it was very educational.

>As I recall there were over 6000 different breweries in West Germany, and one in East Germany (Red Star). Did you ever taste “Red Star”? I think one of the reasons the two Germanys reunited was because of “Red Star”. Germans like good beir. Not something I would ever drink again! :)
