Thanks for the link. It brings back memories when I was still part of the collective at PSS-East during the VFP 3 release.

I've done conversions before, but those were done with the assistance of a particular conversion utility. The programmer who wrote it quoted me one price, but the company wants to charge what to me seems an unwieldy "upgrading" fee before they are "willing" to sell it. Ah, the supply and demand system. If I had the time, I'd make a better mousetrap myself.

So I'm back to doing things the hard way.

I think you are right about using a "base class" ... to exercise at least some degree of inheritance control over the forms which can be doctored at some point in the future.
