In my opinion, I wouldn't waste any time with UML. You'd learn a specific way to draw pictures, it'd take a fair amount of time, and I highly doubtful you'll feel like it has benefited you in any appreciable way.

Go pencil to paper and some chicken-scratch drawing scheme that will sort out the mess in your mind.
